CATECHISTS/CLASSROOM AIDES:
Saint Alexis Parish offers religious education for children beginning in Kindergarten and continuing through fifth grade. Catechists and Classroom Aides teach the religious education classes from September through April to children from grade Kindergarten to 5 th Grade. The ministry of catechesis is a wonderful place for adults who love God, the church and children to share their faith. For more information, please contact Paula Green at reled@stalexis.org.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION GRADE K TO GRADE 5:
Religious Education is provided for children from kindergarten to fifth grade. Liturgical celebrations, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the Sacrament of First Holy Communion, retreat experiences and service opportunities are all incorporated into the Religious Education program. Class sessions are offered on Tuesday evening or Thursday afternoon. The Faith First text series by Resources for Christian Living is the parish catechetical resource. All families at Saint Alexis are encouraged to create an environment in their home that offers continual teaching of the faith. Some families choose to home school their children for their entire Religious Education experience. The Religious Education Office works closely with these families to ensure a positive well-supported program with content that meets Diocesan homeschooling guidelines. For more information, please contact Paula Green at reled@stalexis.org.
VACATION BIBLE CAMP:
Vacation Bible Camp (VBC) is held one week each summer for children from preschool through fifth grade. VBC incorporates Bible study, crafts, music and snacks to build upon a Christ-centered theme that gives children an intimate experience of fun-filled learning. Junior and senior high school students work with adult volunteers to conduct the program. For more information, please contact Paula Green at reled@stalexis.org.
