Vocations To The Priesthood: Real, Needed, And Among Us! Are you aware that we are blessed to have a seminarian from our community studying for the Diocese of Pittsburgh? Jeffery Michael Craig, son of Glenn and Laurie Craig of Saint Alphonsus Parish, will soon be returning to Rome to continue in his studies at the Gregorian University while residing at the North American College.
Jeff is the youngest of the Craig's four children - Chris, Marcie, and Kevin. Jeff attended Saint Alphonsus Elementary School (K-8) and graduated from Quigley Catholic High School, Baden, in 2011. He entered Saint Paul Seminary in his second year of college and graduated from Duquesne University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in 2015.
Jeff recently completed his summer pastoral assignment at Saint Francis Cabrini Parish in Center Township. He will be returning to Rome to continue his formation in anticipation of Ordination to the Diaconate on October 3 of this year in Rome.
We look forward to welcoming Jeff home during his Christmas break at which time we will celebrate his return and ordination. Yes, vocations to the priesthood are real, needed, and among us!
Please continue to pray for Jeff and his classmates that God will complete the good work He has begun in them. Help promote a culture of vocations by praying for them and by encouraging our young people to prayerfully discern the gifts God has given them and how they are being called to use them. This is for the sake of our children's joy and God's glory! Amen - AMEN!
Curious? Come and See. Have you been curious about who Jesus is and what his Church teaches? We invite you to come and see! The path for adults interested in coming into the Church and the sacramental life given us by Jesus is called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults or simply, RCIA.
Who would be a a perfect candidate for RCIA? Well, beginning with anyone who has never been baptized, someone who has been validly baptized in a another Christian tradition or, someone who has been baptized in the Catholic Church but hasn't received all the Sacraments of Initiation - Confirmation and Holy Communion.
Soon we will be beginning our new season for inquirers and those thirsting for Jesus. Is this you, or do you know of someone who fits this description? Keep in mind that you might be the only person who will ever invite that person to come and see!
For more information, contact Dave VanVickle, Director of Evangelization at 724.935.4343 extension 232 or visit us at saintalphonsuswexford.org or stalexis.org. Has Jesus been calling you or someone you know? Come, join us and see!
A BIG Thank You! Again, a big thank you to everyone who took part in this year's celebration of Saint Alexis Festival Days benefiting Blessed Francis Seelos Academy. As always, it's the story of loaves and fishes! It's amazing what we can accomplish when we come together, bringing our gifts and talents, and trust the Lord.
The final report on the festival financials will be published as soon as the last invoice has been paid. In the meantime, thank you for your participation as a leader, volunteer, patron, or benefactor! God bless you...
