First Communion will be held on:
Dress Code: Simply wear your Sunday best! It is traditional in our area for girls to wear white dresses, though that is not a requirement. Veils, etc are optional. If your child is receiving Holy Communion in the hand, gloves cannot be worn. Boys can wear a suit, or slacks and sports coat, or just a dress shirt. Whatever they are comfortable in that shows reverence to the solemnity of the occasion!
Masks: Currently the diocese does not require masks at Mass
Guests: All First Communion Masses are regular Sunday Masses for the parish, open to the public. Your family will have one pew reserved. Other seating is open to the public. Your child will sit with you in your pew.
If you wish for your child to make their sacraments at St. Aidan Parish, please let us know by emailing Paula Green (pgreen@saintaidanparish.org) and please have your pastor send a letter of permission to us by November 19th.
Saturday, March 26th from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at St. Alexis
Each child must be accompanied by at least one parent.
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate siblings at this event.
At this retreat, we will have a parent meeting while the children do an activity with catechists. Then we will rotate through stations throughout the building including: Making your First Communion Banner, Service Project, Faith Sharing, and a snack.
What to bring with you: Please bring a printed family photo that will be glued on your child’s banner. Please also bring a donation for our service project to pack lunches for the Red Door.
