The yearly Parish Share will begin soon. There have been some delays in the usual start of this annual campaign due to adjustments being made by the diocese due to COVID-19. Details about the campaign will be forthcoming in the next few weeks. Once I receive the full information from the diocese, I will provide a further update. I am grateful for your generosity to this annual campaign.
Thank you for supporting our Annual Fish Fry. The proceeds go toward Blessed Francis Seelos Academy. Past practice has been that 50% of the funds raised go directly to the school and 50% to the parish. This year I continued the practice, but the 50% that goes to the parish, will be used to offset our annual school assessment. This year the North Hills Regional Catholic Elementary Schools (NHRCES) has assessed Saint Aidan Parish $350,000 that supports Blessed Francis Seelos Academy. I will be sending out a more detailed account of this assessment process in future Pastoral Notes. In effect, all the funds that the Fish Fry raises will go to support the school.
Please be aware of the announcement I made last week that the 9:00 a.m. Mass will be inside starting on March 7, 2021. There will still be two outside Mass times for the parish at 4:00 p.m. Saturday and 10:00 a.m. Sunday, both at Saint Alexis Pavilion.
Please note that if there is severe weather, i.e., snow, ice, rain, extreme cold, etc., the 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. will be subject to change of location to indoors. The Mass will still be provided on the Radio, and overflow seating will be available in the old Saint Alexis church. Please sign up for our ENews saintaidanparish.org/weekly-email or text the word "Wexford" to 84576 from your mobile phone to receive our Flocknote updates. The parish will use both to send alerts that the Mass will be held inside in case of weather conditions.
I particular word of thanks and gratitude for all of our dedicated workers at the annual Fish Fry. It has been a great success so far, and the number of workers is outstanding. Special recognition to our dedicated Fish Fry Committee members and the significant number of young people, including all Blessed Seelos students. Thank you all.
Due to an unbelievable turnout at our Fish Fry that caused a considerable amount of traffic, the parish will need to move the time of the Saint Alphonsus Church Stations of the Cross to 12:00 noon starting on March 5, 2021. The Saint Alexis Church Stations remain at 7:00 p.m. Please join us for this devotion to remember the Lord’s Passion.
